Hello. This is Money Waffle.
UK money explained like a mate who happens to have read the small print.
Why this exists
Nobody teaches you this stuff. You get a payslip with a tax code on it, a pension you never chose, and a vague sense that you should probably have an ISA, and then you're left to work it out from forum threads and articles that take 2,000 words to say "it depends".
Money Waffle is the version I wanted when I started earning: short, plain English, and honest about the bits that are actually worth your attention.
How it works
Every topic starts with a handful of quick cards you can get through in a few minutes. If that's enough, brilliant, off you go. If you want the detail, there's a full guide behind it. Stop whenever you've got what you came for. Nobody's marking you.
No ads. No affiliate links. Ever.
Most money sites earn a cut when you click through to a bank or an investing app, which makes it hard to trust what they recommend. This one doesn't. Nobody pays to be mentioned here, so nothing is trying to sell you anything.
That does mean the site earns nothing. If a lesson saved you some money or some confusion, you can buy me a coffee. Entirely optional, always appreciated.
The boring but important bit
This is education, not financial advice. I don't know your situation, so treat everything here as a starting point for your own decisions. Figures are for the 2026/27 tax year and the rules do change.
